Today is a WET, SLUSHY and SNOWY day but it's a good day for music (Then again all days are good days for music)!!
Today's theme should be interesting BUT hard!!! MOVIES, MOVIES, MOVIES! Everyone knows that besides good acting and hopefully a good plot any good movie worth it's weight in salty, buttery, greasy popcorn needs to have a good soundtrack! Well that drives today's theme!
Today's theme is "Best Song From a Movie!!"
My family and I watch an OVER-ABUNDANCE of movies so this theme was EXTREMELY difficult! I was you-tubing for hours!!
Ms Grapevine and MsMarvalus have teamed up to create a meme titled Old School Friday. To join in the Old School Friday Fun go HERE for guidelines. We have lost A LOT of our Old School Colleagues so if I mistakenly removed you please let me know! Here are the other OSF Participants:
- Ms Grapevine - - CCG --
- Dallassouth - Regina -
MsMarvalus - Clnmike - Vivrant Thing
From the movie CLAUDINE which is hands down one of my favorite movies!
The Makings Of You - Gladys Night
I am not a fan of Spike Lee or his movies but this is one of my favorite songs.
From Mo Betta Blues.
Harlem Blues - Cynda Williams
Another favorite movie of mine is ARMAGEDDON! I love Aerosmith, I love Steven Tyler & I definitely love Bruce Willis, so this next video is a no brainer.
I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing - Aerosmith
Well there you have it some of my favorite movie songs! Not bad for a snowy Friday! Guess tonight will be MOVIE NIGHT!
Oh I would be remiss if I did not give honor where honor is due so before I go in honor of Black History Month, from the classic movie STORMY WEATHER it's not a song but one of the BEST movie scenes ever..
The Nicholas Brothers in Stormy Weather
Hope the Old School Friday Police don't get me!!!!!!!!!!
Love Ya'll!

Regina,
You're gonna make me late for work sitting here listening to you OSF selections.
Here's a piece of personal family trivia. My great uncle played drums for Miss Lena. His favorite song was "Stormy Weather".
Great choices! Happy OSF to you.
Stay warm and safe!
Mama;
U already know I Love Me Some U, BUTT; Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwww YEEEEAAAAAAAHHHH, U gots a Brotha feelin' some kinda way wit' HARLEM BLUES!!!
HAPPY OSF!!!
@CC- I absolutely LOVE that song!
@ladydeb - Now that is some history! I love that movie! Man those were some dancing men!
Great choices!!! Love that Claudine soundtrack...
Regina it's interesting to me that you chose diverse music; and yet, this IS the type of music I listen to. 20 years ago I would have never thought that I'd listen to Aerosmith; and yet, you picked the one song that they sing that actually moves me. Cynda Williams never sounded so good and the soundtrack to Claudine has gotta be awesome....might have to look that one up.
Thanks for the concert.
